Detroit Public Schools Community District is proud to sponsor the Metro Detroit Scholastic Chess League (City League) which features Elementary, Middle and High School teams from the Detroit area. Teams compete to see who the top chess teams in the city. Because of the current crisis, the league will run from January to March. State tournaments usually start in February and National tournaments follow soon after that from April to May. If you are interested in joining the City League which will start in January 2021 and continues to March 2021, please contact LaRhonda McCann at firstname.lastname@example.org. Or if you are interested in starting a chess club or a chess team at your school, please contact Kevin Fite at email@example.com.
