Our Strategic Plan

  • Blueprint 2023 is designed to guide Detroit Public Schools Community District through the current COVID-19 pandemic context, recover from the pandemic, establish a new sense of normalcy in schools and classrooms, and begin long-term planning. The plan was finalized before winter break 2022 after a number of engagement sessions to review the recommended changes to the district’s Strategic Plan. The timing of this plan is in coordination with the deadline to spend the COVID relief funding received from the federal government, which must be exhausted by 2023.

  • THROUGH THE YEARS

Blueprint 2021 began as a one-year extension of Blueprint 2020 and was responsive to the demands of the COVID-19 pandemic context. Blueprint 2021 ensured that the priorities and strategies for the 2020-2021 school year advanced the District’s ongoing work while attending to the unique health, safety, and social-emotional needs brought forth by the pandemic. Blueprint 2023 continues the work of re-emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic and beginning long-term strategies for the District.
