Adult Education

  • Earn Your GED or High School Diploma

Adult Education's mission is to strengthen our community by improving adult learner skills for successful long-term employment. Detroit Public Schools Community District’s Adult Education programs offer High School Completion (HSC), General Educational Development (GED), Adult Basic Education/Pre-HSE (ABE), and English as a Second Language (ESL) at several community sites and schools, including two main Adult Education campuses.

We provide free classes for adult learners giving them the opportunity to upgrade their academic skills, complete high school, obtain General Educational Development (GED) and other services. We also provide opportunities at two Detroit Learning Labs for students to receive HSE preparation. Enrollment is year-round and classes are offered Monday-Friday.
