Detroit Public Schools Community District is proud to adhere to a Standard of Excellence in the provision of student transportation services. We accomplish this mission in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner while treating our students as our most important asset.
The District provides safe, efficient, and timely transportation services to families weekly to ensure students are ready to learn.
Students are offered transportation under the following guidelines:
- Regular education students in grades K-8 who reside more than 3/4 of a mile from their neighborhood school;
- Students in grades 9-12 are able to receive a 31-day DDOT pass each month from the office at their home school. Students can use this DDOT pass to ride DDOT free of charge but must show their DPSCD student issued ID to the bus operator;
- Exceptional education students according to their IEP; and
- Career and Technical Center Students between their high school and respective Career and Technical Center.
To learn more, please call the DPSCD Transportation Help Line at (313) 945-8600.
Parents of students with an IEP may contact the Exceptional Student Education Department's enrollment office at (313) 748-6363 regarding transportation related IEP concerns.
