Application School Admissions
Detroit Public Schools Community District offers a variety of specialty programs that require an application and some minimal qualifications for admission. The programs include Gifted, Accelerated, Foreign Language Immersion, Aviation, Science and Medicine, Media Arts, Fine and Performing Arts, African-Centered Education and Single-Gender Education.
For the 2021-22 academic school year, there will be one, uniform online application available. Individual schools may have supplemental components of their application, i.e. an exam, essay questions, interviews, etc. and additional enrollment forms will be required from students who are accepted. Schools will contact families directly to complete these supplemental components once the online application has been received.
Please be sure to review school programming and requirements on the Application School List page before applying.
