Enrollment Department

  • The Office of Enrollment supports the growth of enrollment in District schools across the city. Working in close collaboration with schools, as well as other departments across the District, the division works to ensure that families in and around Detroit have equitable access to District schools and the resources needed to find the “right fit” school for their students and family.

To support that work, the Office of Enrollment includes a range of core functions, spanning process design to execution of district-wide recruitment and retention initiatives informed by analyses of enrollment trends, demographic data, and family feedback. The Office of Enrollment also manages comprehensive family-facing and internal admissions processes for the District’s selective admissions schools, including Examination High Schools, Application Schools, Arts Programs, and the Montessori Program.

Across all of its core work, the Office of Enrollment puts the needs of families first, working to support them throughout the full enrollment experience, from generating interest in the District, to selecting the right school, to completing required enrollment processes and onboarding into their new school.
