STEM Enrichment

Detroit Public Schools Community District is proud to offer three STEM Enrichment Programs: Academic Games, Chess, and Robotics!

STEM Enrichment Programs are designed to improve student outcomes in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields. Students who participate in enrichment programs sustain their interest in STEM, perform better in their courses, and are more likely to pursue careers in these fields. Moreover, research indicates that enrichment programs facilitate student success in STEM programs by providing opportunities for students to gain experience and cultivate relationships with their coaches or mentors.

If you know someone that wants to coach one of the three after-school programs, but they don’t work for the District, they are still able to coach!

External (non-DPSCD employees) coaches are welcome! Reach out to Kevin Fite at kevin.fite@detroitk12.org so he can set up an appointment for them to do a background check with the DPSCD police department.
