Parent & Student Supports for English Learning
Parent Academy Sessions in your Language
The Office of Bilingual Education and Related Programs in collaboration with the Office of Curriculum & Instruction and Instructional Solutions will provide virtual workshops in a language that they can understand (i.e., Arabic, Bengali, Hmong and Spanish) to support families understanding of Online Learning. The schedule will be posted on the Office of Family and Community Engagements webpage displaying the appropriate breakout rooms with interpreters. For recommendations on additional supports for online learning for all students, including English learners with click here.
Instructional Academic Supports
The Office of Bilingual Education and Related Programs will provide instructional academic supports for English learners through online and face-to-face teacher coaching and support led by coordinators who are bilingual education or el certified. In collaboration with Human Resources adjustments have been made with ESL/Bilingual staff assignments to better support EL families during distance learning.
Translation and Interpretation
Access to translation and interpretation is available for families as families navigate online learning and need support. Find more information about that here.
