Early Intervention Services

  • The Early Intervention Program provides educational services as required by IDEA-Part B to infants and toddlers (birth to age three) in the home, day care and/or early intervention classroom setting who have been identified as having physical and/or mental impairments. When recommended by the IFSP team, the following services are provided by early intervention staff: special education teacher, occupation therapy, physical therapy, speech/language therapy, psychological evaluation, school nurse, student transportation, individual family service plans, and service coordination with outside agencies. Special education early intervention services are provided to eligible infants and toddlers residing in the Metro Detroit area, including Highland Park, Harper Woods, Hamtramck, and Grosse Pointe.
