Homebound and Hospitalized
-
Homebound and Hospitalized Services provide continuity of educational services for students with medical conditions that prevent them from physically attending school during the school day upon certification by a medical doctor (M.D. or D.O.) or Physician’s Assistant. This is a self-study program to maintain coursework and studies collaborating with core content teachers. Michigan Department of Education (MDE) states a minimum of 2 forty-minute instructional periods per week for general education students and a minimum of 2 one-hour instructional sessions (which may be on the same day) with adequate breaks between each session. Related or Ancillary Services shall be provided but do not replace instruction.
