The Office of Exceptional Student Education oversees the following programs that support the District’s mission of educating students and empowering them to meet their educational goals.
- Social Work with the Hearing Impaired - The Office of School Social Work Services provides services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing student population and their families. ASL-certified School Social Workers provide all support.
- Essential Skills Transition Program @ Diann Banks - The Essential Skills Transition Program @ Diann Banks provides individualized instruction and transitional programs and services for students aged 18-26 with mild cognitive impairments.
- The DPSCD Special Olympics - The DPSCD Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with disabilities in our ESE programs.
- Parent Advisory Committee - DPSCD's Parent Advisory Committee empowers parents, guardians, and grandparents of students with an active individualized education program (IEP).
