Through Career and Technical Education students discover their gifts, talents, and passions by engaging in hands-on training and work-based learning opportunities. Students connect classroom learning to real-world opportunities through project learning, job shadowing, and paid internships.

Career and Technical Centers offer a unique opportunity for high school students to participate in advanced career training at specialty centers off-campus at one of our three locations: Breithaupt Career and Technical Center, Golightly Career and Technical Center, and Randolph Career and Technical Center.

In addition, the District offers Career Academies in our high schools. The academies provide students with a sequence of courses that prepare them for advanced education and skilled careers. These programs include industry-recognized credentials, articulated college credit or early college access.

The district offers our students training in seven different industry areas:

    • Business and Entrepreneurship
    • Healthcare
    • Technology, Media and Arts
    • Law, Education, and Public Safety
    • Engineering, Manufacturing, and Transportation
    • Construction
    • Service (Hospitality and Tourism)
