• The DPSCD Public Safety Command Center serves as the nerve center for real-time monitoring and coordination of safety operations across the entire school district. It operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring that both emergency and non-emergency incidents are handled efficiently and in compliance with safety protocols.

    Key functions include:

    • Continuous Camera Surveillance - Monitoring a network of over 6000 cameras covering schools and other District facilities
    • Emergency Call Taking -Our dispatchers handle thousands of emergency calls on a yearly basis.
    • Non-Emergency Call-Taking-In addition to emergency calls, our dispatchers receive and triage non-emergency service requests, including calls for suspicious activity, tips, and general information. 
    • Incident Dispatching- Coordinating deployment of patrol officers, emergency medical services, and maintenance/security staff
    • Data Management- Logging calls, maintaining incident records, and producing reports for administration and law enforcement
