    When are students considered homeless?

    Each student identified as experiencing homelessness has access to the District's resources to help them excel academically and socially. We identify you as experiencing homelessness if you are:

    • Sharing the housing of others, with or without your parents, due to loss of housing (doubled up)
    • Living in motel, hotel, trailer parks, or camping grounds due to the lack of adequate housing
    • Living in emergency or transitional shelters
    • Living in a public or private place not ordinarily used as regular sleeping accommodation for human beings
    • Living in cars, parks, public spaces, abandoned buildings, substandard housing, bus or train stations, or similar places
    • Unaccompanied youth includes youth, not in the physical custody of a parent or guardian
    • Living in a situation described in the above circumstances and who move around a lot
