The Examination and Application High School application window is now open for fall 2025 and for January 2025 high school transfers.
Examination High School programs offer rigorous college and career preparation, competitive athletic programs, and inspiring arts programs.
The following are the District’s Examination High Schools:
- Cass Technical High School
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School
- Renaissance High School
- Southeastern High School
- The School at Marygrove
The round one deadline to apply for Examination High Schools is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2024. Visit detroitk12.org/ehs to apply.
Application High Schools provide a variety of special programming in the Fine and Performing Arts, Science and Medicine, Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences, Aviation, Foreign-Language Immersion, and Single-Gender Education. Dual-enrollment opportunities for college credit are also available through each school.

- Davis Aerospace Technical High School
- Detroit International Academy
- Detroit School of Arts (DSA)

Get Assistance with your Student’s Application
Application assistance for Examination and Application High Schools is available via one-on-one phone, video, or in-person appointments with trained support staff. Virtual webinars on applications topics are also available in the months of October and November for students and their families.
Students and families will have the opportunity to meet staff and explore each school’s offerings in a welcoming environment during fall open houses.
