DPSCD Honors Distinguished Service of 2024 District Retirees

With hundreds of years of accumulated dedicated service, Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) honored the 2024 retirees during its annual Retiree Breakfast Monday.

The event theme, A Day at the Museum, was held at the Detroit Institute of Arts featuring remarks and an awards presentation by district leadership, Board Chair, Angelique Peterson-Mayberry, Dr. Nikolai Vitti, Superintendent and Jason Posey, Vice President, Detroit Federation of Teachers, followed by breakfast and a free viewing of an art exhibit as retirees and their family's celebrated their legacy, life-long friendships and their dedication to DPSCD. The retirees received a departing gift of postcards brandishing student-created artwork.
