Families Encouraged to Join Gifted Community Advisory Team (G.C.A.T)

Smart StudentsThe Department of Gifted and Talented Education invites parents and families of gifted, talented, and twice-exceptional scholars to join our Gifted Community Advisory Team (G.C.A.T.) Our goal is to provide a network of support and advocacy for families whose children have exceptional potential and learning needs.

All those who participate in G.C.A.T. will be given a copy of Dr. Joy Davis Lawson's book “Bright, Talented, & Black: A Guide for Families of Black Gifted Learners” to read collectively with discussions to follow.

G.C.A.T meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Microsoft Teams. You can join by clicking on the following links:

For questions, concerns, or to receive a copy of the reading please contact Dr. Valeria Jackson, Senior Director of GATE, or Keiera Bradley, Program Associate.
