DPSCD’s DSA Arts Pathway Is “A One in A Million” Experience
With a deep a legendary history in Fine Arts education programming which includes renowned alumni, such as singer/songwriter, Aaliyah Dana Haughton, and Tony award-winning actress Celia Keenan-Bolger, Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) continues its leadership in educating students with artistic aspirations through the Detroit School of Arts Pathways Initiative.
By leveraging its legacy, expertise, and partnerships with 26 arts organizations to position DSA as the premier performing and fine arts high school in metro Detroit, students have the rare opportunity to combine outstanding academic and arts instruction while connecting with professional artists, Master Classes, and workshops at our Middle School Arts Conservatories (grades 6-8) that creates a pathway directly into DSA:
Brenda Scott Academy for Theatre Arts
Duke Ellington Conservatory of Music and Art at Beckham Academy
John R. King Academic and Performing Arts Academy
Spain Elementary-Middle School
The four feeder schools and DSA are DPSCD application schools, meaning you are required to apply online. The application deadline to apply to DSA is Sunday, April 23, 2023. The DSA Pathway Application will be available in mid-April.
You can also visit DSA in person and attend its next Open House on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 5 p.m. DSA is located at 123 Selden Avenue in Detroit, 48201. You do not need to register for the Open House. You can also Spend the Day at DSA on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, starting at 10 a.m. To register, please click here.
