DPSCD’s Mumford High School: Home to TV Superstars and More

“I like attending Mumford because I feel like it is a great community for a young person,” said Lee Anna Thorton, a student at the District’s historic Mumford High School, who has expressed an interest in law and the possibility of one day becoming a judge. Lee Anna's confidence and goal setting reflect the family, and community feel that permeates Mumford’s culture and helps its students rise!

How Mumford Helps Students to Rise (We’re talking literal star-studded power)

Mumford provides students access to a cutting-edge music/media and technology career pathway, designed for students to become the next renowned musician, studio, or technology producer, further adding to the school’s rich legacy of cultivating talent in the arts. Think American Sports Journalist, Jemele Hill, former Detroit Anchor and TV Personality Carmen Harlan or Film and Television Producer, Jerry Bruckheimer.

Mumford has:

  • An award-winning debate program
  • A new school campus, built in 2012
  • A community of academic excellence for its students so they will be career and college ready.
