Weekly S.T.E.A.M Enrichment Activities

Welcome to the weekly online resource drop for DPSCD students and families!  Each week, we’ll share K-12 resources to help you source high quality enrichment activities, aligned to the sections of our suggested daily schedules, available here.  This week is all about social studies and art!  These materials include interactive activities on history, geography, and famous people, which are educational and fun to explore.  After some rich social studies learning, choose one of the art resources to let out your creative side.







PBS Learning Media – Social Studies 


Learn about history, geography, economics, and current events through videos, interactive lessons, and media collections. Students can search by topic, grade level, and activity type to find something that’s perfect for them. 



National Geographic Kids – Explore U.S. States 

Explore photos, history, geography, fun facts, and everything else you wanted to know about our 50 states.



Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems 

Mo Willems invites YOU into his studio every day for his LUNCH DOODLE. Learners worldwide can draw, doodle and explore new ways of writing by visiting Mo’s studio virtually once a day for the next few weeks. Grab some paper and pencils, pens, or crayons and join Mo to explore ways of writing and making together. New episodes will be posted each weekday at 1:00 p.m. ET and then remain online to be streamed afterwards.  Check back each weekday for new LUNCH DOODLES!



Charles H Wright Museum 

The Charles Wright Museum of African American History is posting some profiles of notable black women on Facebook in observance of Women’s History Month.


Requirements: You may be asked to log into Facebook see additional content from the Charles H. Wright Museum but that is not a requirement to view the profiles of notable black women.

Adobe Illustrator Draw 

If you’re a vector artist or want to explore creating art with vectors, Adobe Draw is your go-to app for digital drawing. Use customizable brushes to draw, design, and style your art and basic shape stencils to speed up your design work— like circles, squares, French curves, polygons, and even speech bubbles for comics. Show off your drawing process with an automatically created time-lapse video.
