Parent Letter: DPSCD's Sanctuary Policy
Detroit Public Schools Community District's board members and superintendent are committed to protecting the rights of all students to have access to a free, public education regardless of a child’s or family member’s immigration status. We are further committed to elevating tolerance, inclusiveness, and kindness to all students
and families at all District schools and sites.
On September 4, 2019, DPSCD Superintendent Nikolai Vitti and the sent home a letter with students for families to be advised of the District's sanctuary policy, which ensures the protection of all students.
