We are so glad you're here!
Detroit Public Schools Community District is focused on equipping Detroit's children for lifelong success. With more than 100 schools and 50,000 students, Michigan's largest school district is experiencing a renaissance, and our children are at the heart of the transformation.
This transformation begins with the implementation of rigorous reading and math curricula for K-8 students, the commitment to counselors at every school and creating budgets that allow for art/music and gym at all schools. In addition, there are now more opportunities for parents to get involved through our Parent Teacher Associations and Parent Academy.
We believe we have the perfect school to meet your needs. Review the enrollment information provided below or call us today so that we can help you find that special place where your child will learn and grow.
Detroit Public Schools Community District is a School of Choice District. The deadline for open enrollment for out-of-district students was September 7, 2018. Out-of-district students may still enroll after this date with a waiver from the school district where the student resides.
Detroit residents may enroll in any general-admission school at any time during the school year.
Elementary/Middle: School bus transportation is provided for elementary/middle school students who live more than 3/4 of a mile from their assigned neighborhood school.
High School: Bus passes are provided to high school students who live 1.5 miles or more away from their assigned neighborhood school.
Transportation is not provided to students who live in Detroit but reside outside of the neighborhood boundary of the school in which they are seeking to enroll.
