• At DPSCD our goal is to stay connected to our families and students. We will continue and expand our home visiting efforts over the summer. This is needed to overcome drops in enrollment and attendance. All schools are expected to organize canvassing days simultaneously with districtwide visits to family homes and students. If you are interested in canvassing during the summer at your school and/or districtwide, then please use the following link to sign up here.

Canvassing will begin Tuesday, July 6th, and will conclude on Saturday, August 28th.  Staff will be compensated at a rate of $30 per hour. Twelve (12) month employees may assist with this effort with supervisor approval, however, are not eligible for the hourly compensation.

All canvassers will engage in training prior to canvassing assignments which will be offered weekly. A districtwide training will be held for all school leaders and canvassers on July 6th at 10 a.m. virtually using the following link: bit.ly/summer canvassing

Additional trainings will be held weekly for new canvassers virtually and in-person. For more information please call the Family and Community Engagement Office (FACE) 313-873-7490.
