DPSCD has adopted the Expect Respect initiative as part of our commitment to helping students build positive relationships. The Expect Respect program involves teaching character traits that will promote healthy social interactions with peers and adults. Ms. Clark, our Guidance Counselors, visits classrooms on Teams to deliver grade level appropriate lessons for the “Trait of the Month” as well as the PACER National Bullying Prevention curriculum. The program also includes Overcoming Obstacles activities which are designed to help students handle academic, personal and social challenges. Throughout the program, students are exposed to online lessons, virtual school assemblies, guest speakers and additional activities that will help them build character skills that will lead to lifelong practices. Visit the DPSCD Expect Respect page for more information.
