Carleton is a one-to-one technology school which means every Kindergartner through 5th grader has an assigned touch screen laptop for daily use. Students use their devices to access online components of their curriculum, collaborate with others, conduct research, use Microsoft Office productivity tools, complete important assessments and more. It also provides ongoing access to i-Ready allowing students to receive online lessons specific to their individual needs in reading and math. In addition to the student devices, teachers use SMART Interactive Flat Panels to implement authentic lessons designed to increase student engagement and understanding. Having access to state of the art technology allows students and teachers to expand the learning beyond the walls of the classroom.  Likewise, having technology promotes character building as students must learn to be responsible and ethical digital citizens.
