Dear Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers:
I hope that everyone is feeling good and staying safe. I am principal, Dr. Athena C. Marsh. This marks my fifth year at Diann Banks-Williamson. I am so excited to continue to serve the community here at Diann Banks-Williamson. Although we are going through unprecedented times, I plan to maintain the high standards that have always been in place.
On behalf of the staff at DBWEC, I am happy to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our young adults can achieve at their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our young adults need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your young adult’s education. As partners, we share the responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your young adult’s learning by ensuring that he/she meets goals that include the following:
- Attend school daily and arrive on time, ready for the day’s learning experience.
- Complete all assignments given by the teachers.
- Follow all school rules.
- Do the best job possible, while at school.
Students at Diann Banks-Williamson Educational Center have a comprehensive curriculum focused on the core academic areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. The instruction, curriculum, and assessment are aligned. Our primary goal is to ensure that all students are proficient in these areas. We believe positive supportive and student-teacher relationships are essential to student success. We strive daily to create an environment where students work to succeed and excel. At Diann Banks-Williamson Educational Center students come first! We thank you for your support and look forward to working with you.
