Mr. Daniel Preston
Daniel is an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Supervisor for High Schools. Daniel has extensive experience working with exceptional learners at all levels; however, his forte is at the secondary level. Daniel has experience as a Paraprofessional serving students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the general education setting, as a High School English Teacher, and as a Resource Room teacher (High School and Middle School). He later transitioned into administration, working with all aspects of Special Education administration, from evaluation to early-on (3 to 5 y/o) to post-secondary Act 18 (18-26 y/o). He plans on bringing his experience to collaborate with various DPSCD's ESE programs to support the schools he supervises across the district.
His passion for supporting students with unique strengths, needs, and capabilities stems from growing up with a sibling with learning and neurological differences. Daniel is deeply committed to empowering students by understanding and addressing their needs, providing resources, and creating an inclusive learning environment that fosters growth and success. He strongly believes in building meaningful relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the community to establish a strong support network that allows students to flourish and achieve their full potential. Daniel's philosophy centers on the idea that every student deserves a village that recognizes and nurtures their unique journey.
