Expect Respect: National Unity Day
DPSCD has adopted the Expect Respect initiative as part of our commitment to helping students build positive relationships. The Expect Respect program involves teaching character traits that will promote healthy social interactions with peers and adults. Mrs. Hosey and Mr. Edsel our Guidance Counselors, will lead grade level appropriate lessons for the “Trait of the Month” as well as the PACER National Bullying Prevention curriculum. The program also includes Overcoming Obstacles activities which are designed to help students handle academic, personal and social challenges. Throughout the program, students will be exposed to in-class lessons, school assemblies, speakers and additional activities that will help them build character education skills that will lead to lifelong practices. Visit the DPSCD Expect Respect page for more information.
