Nestled in the Woodbridge Neighborhood, bounded by Wayne State University, the Cultural Center, and the Grand River Creative Corridor, Frederick Douglass Academy provides exciting opportunities for young men to grow into leaders of tomorrow.  We are also very proud to be the only all-male school within the dynamic Detroit Public Schools Community District.

Frederick Douglass for Young Men is shared leadership with all staff, parents and community members to educate all students in a clean, safe, and healthy environment that uses technology to enhance learning and prepares all students as lifelong learners.  The goal of administrators, faculty, and staff is to create a climate, culture, and overall positive attitude that is conducive to learning and closing the achievement gap.
