Overview

  • Central High School is a major part of Detroit's history. It was the first public high school in the City of Detroit and the second oldest high school in the State of Michigan. Our academic programs are designed to prepare students for the next steps in life and their education. We offer College Preparatory courses and four IT Career Pathways including Computer Coding, Sound Design, Video Production, and Graphic Design. Participation in a Career Pathway offers students the opportunity to work with local business partners, attend job shadows and internships, and earn industry certifications. As a Linked Learning school and certified NAF Career Academy, students have the opportunity to develop both career and college readiness skills through real-world experiences, integrated projects and programs offered. Central has amazing opportunities that challenge students to work to their full potential and continues to set the bar for producing globally competitive students for today and the future.
