Thomas A. Edison Elementary serves families with children in Pre-K through 5th Grade. Edison is a blended school providing traditional and montessori educational programs. Our environment is family-oriented with an exceptionally positive culture. At our school, everyone works together to create the elementary school experience you expect. As you walk through the halls at “The Edison” you will see families, students, and highly qualified staff partnering to ensure our students win. At our school, teamwork, with a focus on building educated and outstanding people, is the norm.
Edison Elementary offers a wide range of programs: Traditional and Montessori education, music, sports, physical education, S.T.E.M, character building, interactive technology, and a laptop for every student. Our new Reading and Math curriculum is rigorous to ensure our students learn the standards. Also, joining our staff we now have a Guidance Counselor, School Facilitator, Attendance Agent, Academic Interventionist, and two Master Teachers to aid in the educational growth and development of our students. Our solid academic programs, and commitment to the whole child, is the reason our school is a feeder school to accelerated schools in DPSCD and the Metro Area.
Why do we go over and beyond at Edison? We are passionate about developing learners, with a strong educational foundation, to ensure they are prepared to take advantage of every opportunity their future holds. We attribute our students’ achievements to our families, strong leadership, and a highly skilled staff. Not to mention, our parents, our most influential partners. We are a school where families tell us they are respected and heard.
What are the results? Our students will leave Thomas A. Edison Elementary as a 21st century learner. A scholar that is technology savvy, socially ready, and academically prepared to win in Middle School and beyond. We are Edison: Excelling, Engaging, and Empowering!
