On Thursday, October 17, 2024, Frederick Douglass Academy for Young Men hosted its annual Open House, inviting prospective students and their families to explore the school’s vibrant, community-centered environment. From 4:00 to 5:30 PM, guests were welcomed with a warm reception, followed by an inspiring address from Vice Principal Lawrence Davis, who emphasized the academy's mission to empower young men to excel academically and grow as leaders of integrity. Current students led tours, showcasing the school’s state-of-the-art STEM labs, arts programs, and athletic facilities, while faculty and alumni shared stories of how the academy had shaped their lives. The event highlighted not just the school’s academic rigor but also its commitment to character development and community, leaving families with a clear sense of the school’s dedication to nurturing young men to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
