Mrs. Dorian Evans-Marsh

Mrs. Dorian Evans-Marsh is a committed educator and student advocate with a passion for empowering students to achieve academic and personal success. With 25 years of dedicated service to the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD), Mrs. Evans-Marsh has a wealth of experience as an Exceptional Education Teacher working with students and families in the Albert E. Winship, Charles C. Chadsey, Laura F. Osborn-Osborn College Preparatory, and Western International High School communities.
Throughout her tenure at DPSCD, Mrs. Evans-Marsh focused on delivering tailored and rigorous instruction, particularly in courses requiring reading comprehension skills. Her active involvement in school positive behavior and resource coordinating teams, leadership as a lead ESE teacher, coordination of parent home visits at Western International, Journalism Advisor for MSU/Crain DPSCD Student Paper, and a Detroit Federation of Teachers (DFT) Building Representative ensured equitable representation and support for students with exceptional needs.
Following her retirement in 2019, Mrs. Evans-Marsh further developed her expertise by briefly serving as a Teacher Consultant for the Muskegon Heights School District, assisting staff and families of students with navigating the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process, and as a part-time faculty member at Wayne State University, where she mentored future educators.
Mrs. Evans-Marsh is enthusiastic about rejoining DPSCD as a Behavior Specialist at Turning Point Academy, where she looks forward to bringing her passion for Formula One Racing, civic engagement, and most importantly, her dedication to helping students SOAR.
