CityYear - Tutoring
City Year deploys a diverse team of AmeriCorps Members who tutor and mentor Osborn students in attendance, behavior, literacy, and mathematics. City Year also provides tutoring, enrichment activities, and college and career coaching to students on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays each week. City Year has been a proud partner of Osborn Academy of Mathematics for nearly a decade!
Credit Recovery Program
Credit recovery is the opportunity for students to retake failed classes during summer or after school, which allows students to accelerate their credit attainment so that they can graduate on time with their classmates. This is implemented in several different ways in schools across the city, ranging from online platforms to accelerated classroom instruction, and everything in between.
Impact Program
The IMPACT Program (formerly called Second Chance) is a credit recovery program for students 16-18 years of age who are at least one year behind in high school credits. Students take courses on a fast-track schedule, which allows them to capture credits every 10 weeks and move at a faster pace than traditional high schools.
The IMPACT Program meets Monday through Friday generally from 3:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. (Times may vary) Students receive free meals, bus cards, and supplies. The program is offered at no cost. The IMPACT program is a good fit for students who work during the day and/or need an alternate and flexible learning environment.
