About the Assistant Principal
Degrees and Certifications:
Dr. Jemel Hence
I graduated from the University of Michigan in August of 2006. I majored in psychology and studied mathematics for four years. While at the University of Michigan I discovered my self-identity. I would tutor and mentor under privileged children and peers from diverse backgrounds. I really loved it. That love later became motivation for my whole existence. I knew that I wanted to be an educator.
I earned my Master of Education at the University of Phoenix in January of 2010. I earned my Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at the University of Phoenix in July of 2016. I am an educator and international leader. I believe in the Ralph Waldo Emerson philosophy, “The secret to education lies in respecting the pupil.”
In closing, I am a committed parent, married and devoted educator. I am determined and focused on enhancing myself with the ultimate goal of impacting the lives of all people through education because a mind is a terrible thing to waste.
