Mrs. Ashley Monteleone, Ed. S.
Welcome to the Detroit International Academy for Young Women! I am Ashley Monteleone, your principal. It is an honor to continue serving this incredible community and lead the only public K-12 school for young women in the state of Michigan.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Honors Communication from Hope College, a Master of Arts in Urban Education Pedagogy from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, and an Education Specialist degree from Wayne State University. My academic journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of the educational landscape and the pedagogical strategies necessary to foster a thriving learning environment.
My career in education spans various roles, including serving as a teacher, dean of culture, and assistant principal. Each of these experiences has shaped my approach to leadership and reinforced my commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment for our students.
I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to continue my journey with the Detroit International Academy for Young Women. Together, we will strive to empower our students, celebrate their achievements, and prepare them for a future filled with possibilities. Our unique position as the only public K-12 school for young women in Michigan inspires us to lead with vision, innovate with purpose, and cultivate an environment where every student can succeed.
Thank you for being a part of our school community. I look forward to working together to make this academic year our best yet!
