Mrs. Kelly George
Kelly George is a passionate educational leader with over 14 years of experience supporting diverse learners and enhancing instructional practices within the Detroit Public Schools Community District. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University, a Master’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Wayne State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Cognitive Impairment, also from Wayne State University.
Throughout her career, Mrs. George has served as a Teacher Consultant, Cognitive Impairment Teacher, Web Content Manager, and a General Education Teacher. She has played a key role in leading school improvement initiatives, managing cohorts, supporting teachers with evidence-based practices, and designing professional development that empowers staff and promotes student success. As a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) member and participant of Drew’s Leadership, School Improvement, and Culture & Climate Teams, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and data-driven learning environment.
Mrs. George is highly skilled in technology integration, data analysis, and strategic communication. Her expertise includes managing web content, developing interactive presentations, and maintaining school systems that connect families, staff, and the community to the school’s mission and vision . She is a dedicated lifelong learner who believes in the power of collaboration, compassion, and consistency to shape student achievement and staff growth.
Her vision as Assistant Principal is to continue building an environment that supports every student’s academic, social, and emotional development while empowering educators through teamwork, transparency, and innovation. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, exploring new technology tools, traveling, and engaging in community enrichment activities.
