Dr. Walter Richardson
Dr. Richardson began his career in Detroit Public Schools as a Co-Op student while attending Kettering High School. After graduating from college, he served in many capacities in various locations within the district before becoming an Attendance Agent. After serving 10 successful years as an Agent, he determined he was ready for another challenging opportunity. Dr. Richardson decided to make the jump and assume the role of Dean of Culture and Climate in 2017.
As Dean of Culture and Climate, Dr. Richardson has lowered the school suspension rate and created new programs that have improved the school’s overall climate and culture. Aside from his career accomplishments, Dr. Richardson is also a career scholar with multiple degrees. He holds an Associate of Arts in Education and Business, a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Psychology, a Master of Education in Special Education, a Master of Business Administration, a Education Specialist, and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, Development and Change. In his free time, he enjoys listening to different genres of music and dining at new restaurants with his lovely wife.
