Dear Students/Parents/Guardians/Community Members,
I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying the summer season. As we prepare for the start of a new school year at Henry Ford High School, I am filled with great excitement and anticipation. It is with immense pleasure that I welcome each of you to what promises to be a memorable and transformative year.
At Henry Ford High School. Our mission is to foster an environment that encourages academic excellence, personal growth, and a sense of community. We provide our students with a supportive and enriching educational experience that will help them thrive both in and out of the classroom. This year, we are eager to continue building on our successes and to introduce several new initiatives aimed at enhancing our students' learning experiences. From innovative teaching methods and extracurricular opportunities to expanded supp01t services and community engagement projects, we are committed to ensuring that every student has the resources and support they need to achieve their fullest potential.
Our dedicated faculty and staff are eager to welcome back our returning students and to meet our new students and their families. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is vital for the success of our students. We encourage you to stay involved, communicate with us, and participate in school events throughout the year. As we embark on this new academic journey, I want to remind you that our doors are always open. Whether you have questions, concerns, or ideas, please do not hesitate to reach out. Together, we can make this school year a rewarding and successful one for all.
This year we will continue to enforce a dress code (see attached). Students are required to adhere to the requirements of the dress code or parents will be contacted to bring a change of clothes for the student to attend school. The school bell schedule will be the same as last year and urge parents to prepare for that during the summer to ensure a smooth transition. The school doors will open at 7:45 AM for breakfast, with classes starting at 8 AM and ending at 3:20 PM.
An academic school calendar for parents with dates of parent-teacher conferences is also attached to this letter which will provide students and teacher conferences, end of quarters, school breaks, and other important events taking place. Also attached is a copy of the bell schedule and information (313) 494-7567 if you have any questions or email Ms. Wheeler, Ms. Cary, and Ms. Jackson, the school counselors at: camille.wheeler@detroitkl2.org, deirdre.cary@detroitkl2.org, and tiffany.jackson@detroitk12.org.
Please visit the school website at detroitkl2.org/Ford for important information and updates. The entire staff is looking forward to seeing the students very soon as we begin our educational journey this school year! Remember that school starts on August 26, 2024. All student schedules should be completed by that date, which will allow students to view their schedule online and be ready for their first day of school.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to Henry Ford High School. I look forward to a fantastic year ahead and to the many accomplishments and milestones we will achieve together. Welcome back, and here's to a great start to the school year!
Warm regards,
Michael Mokdad
