Dear Henry Ford High School Family,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year! As we plan for another school year, I want to assure you that the Detroit Public Schools Community District and Henry Ford High School are focused on, and committed to, ensuring the safety and academic excellence of all our students! As we work together to figure out this new normal, we will work to ensure that all our students are face-to-face, actively engaged and challenged in their academic endeavors. Now more than ever, our mantra of providing opportunity to all students through excellence holds true during these difficult and trying times.
Over the past two years, the pandemic has taught us so much about our staff, students, and families. We learned that we are brave, supportive, and resilient! The teachers had to rethink everything they knew about teaching and utilize technology to its fullest potential. We will use all that we have learned to become more efficient and introduce students to new platforms, curriculum, and programs. It is very important to increase communication and collaboration with the parents, teachers, and all stakeholders to ensure we are providing our most important assets—the students—a quality education.
The entire staff is looking forward to seeing our students face-to-face very soon as we begin our educational journey this school year! We cannot wait to welcome all our Trojan students to school this very important school year. Remember that school starts on September 7, 2021. All student schedules should be completed by end of day September 3rd which will allow student to view their schedule online and be ready for their first day of school. Please contact the school at (313) 494 – 7567 if you have any questions or email Ms. Wheeler and Ms. Cary the school counselors at: Camille.wheeler@detroitk12.org, and Deirdre.cary@detroitk12.org.
Please visit the school website at detroitk12.org/Ford for important information and updates.
Educationally Yours,
Michael Mokdad
Principal
