    Greetings Parents, Students, Staff and Community Members:



    It is with great joy and excitement that I welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year! It is truly my honor and my pleasure to serve as your school leader for a fourth year. We are thrilled to welcome Osborn students back to school. We look forward to a wonderful new school year as we are “Anchored in Achievement”.


        Together with our dedicated staff, we strive to make connections with students to help them feel valued, loved, challenged, and safe.

    Please see all attached fliers as they include important dates to save.


    For this upcoming school-year, the following supportive services will be available to address the academic needs of our students: Credit Recovery, Intervention Lab, Tutoring, and Individualized targeted support in their core classes based on their Spring testing data in Math and Literacy.

    Osborn offers over 15 enrichment clubs, in school mental health and health services by Ascension Health and Black Family Development, and we offer a full Sports Program for students. We are pleased to offer an E-Sports gaming lab for Osborn students in the upcoming school year. Additionally, students will have access to over 5 Advanced Placement courses and Dual Enrollment to gain college credit.

    All Osborn students will be enrolled into a College/Career Pathway track that will lead to opportunities scholarships, and elective offerings that spark the student interest. At Orientation, students will select their College/Career Pathway:


    JROTC Military Program

    Finance & Marketing

    Music/Band Pathway

    Engineering Pathway

    Computer Science: Game Design/

    Coding, and E-Sports

    College and Career Trade Courses


    The following informational points are presented to help you prepare for the new school year: School Hours: 8:00 AM – 2:55 PM

    Osborn Vision: All students will have the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to thrive in our city, our nation, and our world.


    Student Dress code:

    • All grades: Any color collar shirt with no offensive language or content. No revealing shirts that show skin or stomach (e.g. Tank tops or thin strap shirts). Students pants/bottoms/skirts must be at the knee (or below), not ripped showing skin, and no revealing leggings. Jeans are allowed. Shoes must be closed toe. No flip flops, sandals, or Slides. All Student clothing can NOT be revealing.


    Class schedules: Distributed at the mandatory grade level orientation and parent meeting. Students and families are expected to attend the grade level orientation.


    9th Grade Orientation: August 23rd 9 AM – 10:30 AM

    10th Grade Orientation: August 23rd  1 PM – 2:30 PM

    11th Grade Orientation: August 24th: 9 AM – 10:30 AM

    12th Grade Orientation: August 24th: 1 PM – 2:30 PM


    Starting Tuesday, September 5, 2023, please plan to join Osborn administration, staff, families, and community members for our weekly Tuesday Virtual Parent Meeting at 2 PM by calling (313) 462-2305, with the PIN: 235 507 395 837#. You will receive weekly school updates pertaining to your child and resources you can take advantage of. Breakfast and lunch will be served. In the interim, please be advised to the following dates: Friday, September 1-4 – No school for students due to holiday.
