Impact the Outcome male mentoring program
Group meets once a month to discuss topics about life as a young man. What is it: it is a club formed for students with the purpose of learning and playing the game of chess.
When: Mondays and Tuesdays (after school)

Students play in both informal and tournament games
Ben Carson students won the City Chess Championship in 2021.

Through exploratory research, hands-on construction, teamwork, imagination, and fun with LEGO elements, FIRST ® LEGO ® League Jr. challenges teams of up to six kids to explore a real-world scientific concept, then build a motorized model and develop a Show Me Poster to illustrate their journey of discovery. Throughout the season, adult coaches provide guidance and inspiration.www.firstinspires.org

How do they join? Come see P.O.W. for a permission slip to get signed by parent to authorize them to stay after school
What is it/tell me about it: Students who are seriously interested in getting physically fit
When: Workouts are held every Monday/Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15 to 4:30 provided we have school
Where: Inside the Velodrome
Any other information you have or want people to know about this: Students must be serious about getting in shape and follow all Velodrome rules and regulations. In May there will be a physical fitness competition at Renaissance High School for only the JROTC cadets.

Navy JROTC Drill Team/Color Guard
Drill Team/Color GuardMade up of cadets that are currently enrolled in the JROTC Class. Both teams require practice & discipline to complete military movements that are precise and sharp. The team teaches cadets to work together as a team.Grades: All grade levels are welcome and encouraged to be on the team.
Practice: will be held Mondays & Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30GPA Requirement: Must have a 2.0 to be on the team

Community Health Fair
Each year, BCHS serves the community by offering a health fair open to the public.
The health fair often includes:
- Raffles
- Lessons (such as Zumba)
- Tables hosted by local health experts
- Tables that share BCHS achievements
- Sometimes paired with our blood drive
- Healthy food
- Information from our gardeners
- Many other fun activities
We look forward to working with the community to put this fair on, and sharing this wealth of knowledge with everyone.

What is it: Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) is a well known and recognized organization for health care professionals
This is a paid membership to a future health care leadership organization. It is a competition at three levels. All students work at competing and there are many other opportunities ie: college scholarships. It is fun and the students enjoy competing at all levels.
