Mason Academy: December
As we prepare for the holiday vacation, it is important to remember the reason for the season. I have seen and heard thousands of commercials for Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday and every other sale that I can’t name. Unfortunately, this time of year has grown more and more commercial. Focusing more on the purchase and exchange of material gifts than the acts of giving from the heart.
Kindness and Generosity are our shared character values for the months of November and December respectively.
By definition , kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous and considerate. Generosity is defined as being a liberal giver with a noble and kind spirit.
We strive as teachers and parents to instill these values in all of our children. These values are actions that can best be taught through repeated exposure and observation. They have to see kindness and generosity in action in their daily walk. We as adults must explicitly talk about these values with our children so they know our thoughts and our aspirations for them to practice these shared values daily.
Our 6th graders will have their performance on Kindness next Friday, December 13, 2019 @ 9am
8th Grade Parent Meeting
We have a number of event ideas for our 8th grade students to celebrate their career here at Mason Academy and their transition into High School. We need your help to make these events come to fruition. We would like to meet with all 8th grade parents on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 5pm to 6:30pm.

Words of Wisdom
People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.
