Girls Program Director, Co-Founder - Detroit United Lacrosse

Biography/Background:

Growing up, lacrosse was not a sport that Coach Summer had access to due to regional and financial constrictions. Due to this experience, she believes in providing as many opportunities for success to youth as possible, especially to young women. After attending Denison University, where she learned the sport and was employed as a student-coach, she returned to Detroit and has been coaching for over 2 years. In the spring of 2019, Coach Summer co-founded Detroit United Lacrosse, and currently serves as the Girls Program Director. Coach Summer was the Head Coach for Athens High School JV Women's lacrosse and is thrilled to be Varsity Head Coach for the inaugural season at Cass Tech.
