Student Spotlight of the Week: The drum major for this year's historic DPSCD All City Marching Band has been selected. Congratulations to Ashton Wood from Cass Technical High School who will lead our 100- student ensemble down Woodward Ave on Thanksgiving morning. Our DPSCD schools that will march to the beat of our esteemed student leader are Denby, Southeastern, Renaissance, DSA, Cass Technical High School, Mumford, Northwestern, and King. Please tune in on Thanksgiving morning to see our students represent our district again in this year's parade. Understanding Ways to Support your Child through Trauma: Free Parent Academy Session: DPSCD Families join the Office of Family and Community Engagement Tuesday November 14, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Hutchinson Elementary Middle, 2600 Garland Detroit MI 48214, as they host a training course designed to help caregivers learn and understand best practices to help children cope with trauma. Deadline to Apply to a DPSCD Examination High School is Sunday, November 19: DPSCD Families with 8th grade students or students interested in attending one of DPSCD Examination High Schools- the deadline is approaching. The application window is open now through Sunday November 19 at midnight. All students are encouraged to apply. Click here to apply today!
Virtual orientation for returning Adult Education students: The Adult Education Program will host a virtual orientation session for returning students this coming Tuesday November 14, 2023. The session will be from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Upon registration completion, a link will be provided to the virtual session. Contact your career coach if you have any questions.
