We continue to expose our students to amazing partnerships with various businesses, industries and within the arts community. As the district has set a new theme, “Students Rise. We All Rise”. We have truly embraced that in our culture and climate within our building. We are one of the finest educational institutions that believes “Student Achievement” is first and foremost. Our staff members are committed daily to ensuring our students have the necessary tools, reach beyond their limits and commit to becoming better citizens with high integrity.

Sideline Cheeer
Part of the DPSCD K-8 Athletic program (We Are the Gators)
Sideline cheer is generally during the fall and winter, and the primary focus is to engage with the fans and keep the spirit high during events and school sports, such as football and basketball games.

Basketball
Part of the DPSCD K-8 Athletic program (We Are the Gators)
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball through the defender's hoop.

Volleyball
Part of the DPSCD K-8 Athletic program (We Are the Gators)
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules.

Baseball
Part of the DPSCD K-8 Athletic program (We Are the Gators)
Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. The game is live when the umpire signals to the pitcher either verbally or by pointing, indicating that the ball is now in play.

Track & Field
Part of the DPSCD K-8 Athletic program (We Are the Gators)
Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. The name is derived from where the sport takes place, a running track and a grass field for the throwing and some of the jumping events.

Chess
An ASP (After-School Program) where Gators/Scholars learn how to play Chess and compete in local and regional competitions. Sponsored by Ms. R. Willis.

We Do Robotics
An ASP (After-School Program), 4th & 5th Grades partner with Lego We Do 2.0 to build and Code Robots. Sponsor is Mrs. M. Aferi

Academic Games (MLAG)
An ASP (After-School Program), Academic Games is a series of games designed to stimulate and test student knowledge in a variety of subjects. Students develop proficiency and confidence by competing in games of Math, English, Social Studies, and Logic. Through competition, students are encouraged and motivated to sharpen their skills in order to gain a competitive edge over their peers. Academic Games makes learning fun! Sponsored by Mrs. C. Ladson

Student Council
Students work with school staff to shape the culture of the school environment and learn about various forms of local, state and federal government proceedings.

RoboGators
An ASP (After-School Program) The RoboGators are Golightly Education Center's robotics team headed this year by Ms. S. Taylor, Middle school students learning the fundamentals of designing, creating, programming and executing introductory and basic robotics skills. For several years, middle school students have competed in city and state competitions.
