Breast Cancer Awareness Month - 10312021

Winning On Wednesdays (WOW)
Winning on Wednesdays highlights accomplishments by students and staff throughout the week. Students and staff recommend individuals to be recognized so that the Gator Community can give praise.

After-School Tutoring (AST)
After-school tutoring is provided for students in 3rd - 8th grades. Meeting several days a week (Tuesday & Thursday) from 3 PM to 4 PM in a small group setting, students receive assistance from instructional staff. Dinner/ evening snacks are also provided.

Breast Cancer Awareness Week
During the month of October, students and staff participate in educational activities to increase awareness about Breast Cancer. A school-wide event on every Friday caps off the week. Socktoberfest, Pink Cupcakes on Friday, Pink Day and Harvest Day.

Winter Concert
Our student's vocal talents are center-stage in an early winter (December) extravaganza. Vocal students in grades K - 5 delight us with winter and holiday-themed songs.

Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) Music Theory
Students partipate in music immersion in a classroom setting. Members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) are on-site instructing basic music theory.

Scripps Spelling Bee
Students particpate in classroom spelling bee for each grade level (K-8). Classroom winners then participate in a school-wide spelling bee were a winner is determined. Middle school winners move on to City-wide Spelling Bee. A Metropolitan-Detroit spelling bee is held to determined and winners participate in National Scripps Spelling Bee.

DPSCD Math Bee
Students particpate in classroom math bee for each grade level (K-8). Classroom winners then participate in a school-wide spelling bee were a winner is determined. Winners move on to city-wide Math Bee.

Family Game Nights
It's a family affair! Twice a school year (Fall & Spring) we bring together our Gator community to participate in classroom-based curriculum games. Every class and/or grade-level hosts a game. Winners receive their choice of a popular board game.

Spring Concert
Our student's vocal talents are center-stage in a Spring (April/May) exhibition. Vocal students in grades K - 5 delight us with songs.
