Overview

  • DPSCD is prepared to meet families and staff where they’re at this fall by offering flexible learning options and resources to support learning, health, and social-emotional well-being. Please review the helpful information and resources about the District’s Reopening Plan and 2020-21 school year using the links on the left.

All students and teachers have the option to learn or teach at home or in school. TO make sure we can honor both family and teacher choices, we’re offering three learning models this fall. Read more by clicking the links below

    • Online Learning (at home) – Students remain connected to their brick-and-mortar school and participate in a mix of live, daily online instruction from certified teachers, as well as independent work at home. Students receive resources like internet-enabled devices, planners, workbooks, access to the Homework Hotline and daily meals (breakfast and lunch).
    • Face-to-Face Learning (where available) – Students attend their school five days per week. Each school has robust safety protocols in place, such as smaller class sizes to support social distancing, PPE, daily symptom checks, and cleaning procedures. Face-to-face students also have access to internet-enabled devices and academic support resources. Read more about our safety protocols here.
    • Learning Centers (online learning in schools) – Students participate in live, daily online instruction from a certified teacher in a school-based setting. Students are supervised throughout the day, receive meals, and have opportunities for recess and interaction with other students. Students will find the same robust safety protocols in place, as well as have access to the same resources (devices, academic supports, Homework Hotline).

    Academic Calendar

All students will follow the same academic calendar and bell schedule regardless of face-to-face, online learning, or learning center. Check out the District’s 2020-21 calendar here.
