"Pershing High school, where we eliminate the barriers to learning, encourages students to be mastery-driven."

Pershing High School opened its doors on September 3, 1930 and was named after General John J. Pershing who was a Senior United States Army officer. General Pershings' soldiers were named "Doughboys", which is where the school's mascot name came from. Pershing partnered with the JDilla Music Foundation and our recording studio was created in our music room. The students at Pershing have cut 2 CD's with a multitude of complications from our students over the past two years.  Two JDilla Murals were funded by the foundation and painted by a local artist.

There is a new Media Arts/Recording Production in the works for the 2019-2020 school year.
