Mr. Bryant Tipton

Michigan Chronicle Men Of Excellence Award recipient 2024, Bryant Tipton's story is a testament to the power of determination and community support. A Detroit native, he grew up on the vibrant west side, immersed in the rich culture of the city. As a product of the Detroit Public Schools Community District, he honed his skills at Cody High School, where his athleticism earned him a basketball scholarship.

Fuelled by faith and surrounded by mentors, friends, and family, Bryant pursued higher education with unwavering dedication. He earned not one, but three master's degrees, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in K-12 leadership, showcasing his commitment to continuous learning and growth.

With 24 years of experience in education, Bryant has left an indelible mark on the field. His accolades speak volumes, from being named Staff of the Year at East English Village Prep Academy to earning recognition as Metro Coach of the Year and All-City Coach of the Year. His impact extends beyond the classroom, having been lauded as a Positive Role Model by Detroit Teacher Magazine and receiving a perfect attendance award from DPSCD.

A proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, Bryant is deeply rooted in his community. As Principal of Pershing High School, he is dedicated to nurturing the potential of Detroit's children, strengthening families, and uplifting the community as a whole. Bryant Tipton exemplifies the spirit of Detroit, and his passion for service shines brightly in everything he does.
