Ms. Tanisha Hill

Assistant Principal Hill was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She has been employed by Detroit Public Schools Community District for 24 years. In addition to teaching, AP Hill is a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. She enjoys reading, going to plays and concerts, exercising, and traveling.

Ms. Hill was thrilled to join the Carleton family in 2018 as the Dean of Culture. While serving in this capacity, her primary goal was to maintain a safe, nurturing environment for all. During her 3 years in the position, she accomplished her goal by adhering and following the rules and procedures set forth by the Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) as well as Carleton Elementary. Her ability to promote effective communication among parents and the school community was well received, leading to her current position as our Assistant Principal. Ms. Hill continues to hold high expectations for students to incorporate integrity when making decisions, display compassion, and become the leaders they are meant to be.
